Chill

 You know what annoys me?
When people think they're awesome and talk down to you.
When people thrive on drama.
When people get mad for no reason.
When people expect you to read their mind
When I'm the only one who notices that the person they think is funny is really just mean
When people say "I love that person" referring to a heinous bitch.
When people criticize me for liking something
When Ms.Collins in the library smiles while she's getting you in trouble/talks without opening her mouth
When the teacher erases the board but leaves a little line
When you think you can trust someone but it turns our you can't
When people walk really slowly in front of you
When people use you to social climb or ditch you to social climb
When people use the excuse "I was drunk"
When guys ask if its that time of the month
When guys talk about that time of the month
When people say your stupid or retarded because you aren't in honors or you don't have as good of grades.
When people complain to me all the time and never ask how I am
When people make fun of you for saying something dumb and take it to far
When people generalize you with a group of people even though you aren't like them
When people are really dumb drivers

However, I don't let it get to me. I try to be as chill as possible, even if I feel like I could burst into flames. I cannot handle drama. It literally is bad for my health. I actually become sleep deprived, feel sick to my stomach, and I can't focus on anything else. Its horrible. I like to let things go and try not to worry. But it sometimes is hard. I've always been a pleaser. I always want everyone around me to be happy and everyone to like me. It sounds really selfish, but I need to focus on me being happy more. It used to be a lot worse, but it feels odd and stressful doing something that someone won't like for a change. Anyway, I'm not telling people to be like me and be a somewhat doormat all the time, but I'm suggesting that some things in life that may be annoying you have to let go. Pick your battles. Let go of some things and eventually the madness will go away when you forget about it. Focus on the positive things instead, take your mind off of it. Sieze the day!

Also, I highly suggest you watch the movie Animal House. John Belushi in this movie is the funniest person ever! He re-defines the meaning of don't worry, and don't be mad.

"Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure."  -Oprah Winfrey

“Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections.”

“Our attitude toward life determines life's attitude towards us.”  -John N. Mitchell

“Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it.”    -Bill Cosby

Movie Quotes

Best movie quotes! Inspirational, funny, sad...etc. I'm just gonna keep posting them! Please comment if you have good ones.

1) Dodgeball- Great quotes!

White Goodman: "Go ahead, make your jokes, Mr. Jokey... Joke-maker. But let me hit you with some knowledge. Quit now. Save yourself the embarrassment of losing with these losers in Las Vegas, La Fleur."

White Goodman: "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood-nobody!"

Cotton McKnight: "I'm being told that Average Joe's does not have enough players and will be forfeiting the championship match."
Pepper Brooks: "It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em."

Pepper Brooks: "It's time to separate the wheat from the chaff, the men from the boys, the awkwardly feminine from the possibly Canadian."

Cotton McKnight: "It looks like the clock is about to strike midnight on this Cinderella story, turning Average Joe's into the proverbial pumpkin."
Pepper Brooks: "I sure do like pumpkins, Cotton."

Cotton McKnight: "Ladies and gentlemen, I have been to the Great Wall of China, I have seen the Pyramids of Egypt, I've even witnessed a grown man satisfy a camel. But never in all my years as a sportscaster have I witnessed something as improbable, as impossible, as what we've witnessed here today!"

White Goodman: "Oh, now he's a philosophizer."

2) Mean Girls

Crying Girl: [reading from paper] "I wish we could all get along like we used to in middle school... I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy..."
[about to cry]
Damian: [shouting from back] "She doesn't even go here!"
Ms. Norbury: "Do you even go to this school?"
Crying Girl: "No... I just have a lot of feelings... "

Damian: [delivering candy canes] "Taylor Zimmermann, two for you. Glenn Coco? FOUR for you, Glenn Coco! You go, Glenn Coco. And uh... ”Caddy" Heron. Do we have a "Caddy" Heron here?"
Cady: "It's Cady."
Damian: "Oh Cady, here you go, one for you... And none for Gretchen Wieners, bye."

Michigan Girl: "Alyssa, I'm sorry I called you a gap-toothed bitch. It's not your fault you're so gap-toothed."

Mr. Duvall: "Hell, no. I did *not* leave the South Side for this!"

Short Girl: "Hey, get out of here."
Damian: "Oh my God - Danny DeVito! I love your work!"

Janis: "Regina George... How do I begin to explain Regina George?"
Emma Gerber: "Regina George is flawless."

Jessica Lopez: "- And he told her she was pretty."
Bethany Byrd: "One time she punched me in the face... it was awesome."

Karen: "It's like I have ESPN or something. My breasts can always tell when it's going to rain."
Cady: "Really? That's amazing."
Karen: "Well... they can tell when it's raining."

Janis: "God! I am so sorry Regina. Really, I don't know why I did this. I guess it's probably because I've got a big LESBIAN crush on you! Suck on THAT! AY-YI-YI-YI-YI-YI!"

3) The Hangover

Alan Garner: "Tigers love pepper... they hate cinnamon."

Phil Wenneck: "Would you please put some pants on? I feel weird having to ask you twice."

Stu Price: "[playing piano and singing passionately] What do tigers dream of when they take their little tiger snooze? Do they dream of mauling zebras, or Halle Berry in her Catwoman suit? Don't you worry your pretty striped head, we're gonna get you back to Tyson and your cozy tiger bed. And then we're gonna find our best friend Doug, and then we're gonna give him a best friend hug. Doug, Doug, oh, Doug, Dougie, Dougie, Doug, Doug! But if he's been murdered by crystal meth tweakers..."

Doug Billings: "Tracy did mention we shouldn't let him gamble. Or drink too much."
Phil Wenneck: "Jesus, he's like a gremlin. Comes with instructions and shit."

Officer Franklin: "[to Alan] Not you, fat Jesus."

Alan Garner: "Gambling? Who said anything about gambling? It's not gambling when you know you're gonna win. Counting cards is a foolproof system. "
Stu Price: "It's also illegal."
Alan Garner: "It's not illegal. It's frowned upon, like masturbating on an airplane."
Phil Wenneck: "I'm pretty sure that's illegal too."
Alan Garner: "Yeah, maybe after 9/11, where everybody got so sensitive. Thanks a lot, bin Laden."

Stu Price: "That is not Doug."
Mr. Chow: "What're you talking about, Willis? That him!"
Stu Price: "No, I'm sorry, Mr. Chow, that's not our friend, he... it's..."
Alan Garner: "The Doug we're looking for is a white."

Stu Price: "Phil, we're not gonna leave a baby in the room, there's a fucking tiger in the bathroom!"
Phil Wenneck: "It's not our baby."

Alan Garner: "[repeatedly singing] And we're the three best friends that anyone could have!"

Stu Price: "She's got my grandmother's Holocaust ring!"
Alan Garner: "I didn't know they gave out rings at the Holocaust."

Mike Tyson: "By the way man, where you get that cop car from?"
Stu Price: "We uh, stole it from these dumbass cops."
Mike Tyson: "*Nice*!"

Alan Garner: "You probably get this a lot. This isn't the real Caesar's Palace is it?"
Lisa: "What do you mean?"
Alan Garner: "Did, umm... did Caesar live here?"
Lisa: "No."
Alan Garner: "I didn't think so."

Alan Garner: "I’d like to…I’d like to say something…something I prepared. Tonight…
Hello,
How about that ride in? I guess that’s why they call it Sin City (hahaha)
You guys may not know this, but I consider myself…a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack, it grew by one. So were two…so there was two of us in the pack. I…I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later.
And 6 months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys. I thought…wait a second, could it be. And now I know for sure, I just added 2 more guys to my wolf pack. 4 of us wolves running around the desert together, in Las Vegas looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, we make a toast!"

4) The Breakfast Club

John Bender: "Being bad feels pretty good, huh?"

John Bender: "Well, Brian, this is a very nutritious lunch. All the food groups are represented. Did your mom marry Mr. Rogers?"
Brian Johnson: "Uh, no. Mr. Johnson."

Richard Vernon: "What was that ruckus?"
Andrew Clark: "Uh, what ruckus?"
Richard Vernon: "I was just in my office and I heard a ruckus."
Brian Johnson: "Could you describe the ruckus, sir?"

Richard Vernon: "My office is right across that hall. Any monkey business is ill-advised. Any questions?"
John Bender: "Yeah, I have a question. Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardobe?"
Richard Vernon: "You'll get the answer to that question, Mr. Bender, next Saturday."

Richard Vernon: "You're not fooling anyone, Bender. The next screw that falls out will be you."
John Bender: "Eat my shorts."
Richard Vernon: "What was that?"
John Bender: "Eat... My... Shorts."

5) Remember the Titans

Alan Bosley: [act naturally playing in the background] "Huh? Yes! This one... I don't even have to ask but, I will. What do you think of this one?"
Blue Stanton: [rubbing head] "Does the term, cruel and unusal punishment mean *anything* to you?"

Coach Boone: "We will be perfect in every aspect of the game. You drop a pass, you run a mile. You miss a blocking assignment, you run a mile. You fumble the football, and i will break my foot off in your John Brown hind parts and then you will run a mile. Perfection. Let's go to work."

Coach Yoast: "All right, now, I don't want them to gain *another yard!* * You blitz... all... night!* If they cross the line of scrimmage, I'm gonna take every last one of you out! You make sure they remember, *forever*, the night they played the Titans!"

Petey Jones: "Why the clouds, Sunshine?"

Sheryl: "People say that it can't work, black and white; well here we make it work, everyday. We have our disagreements, of course, but before we reach for hate, always, always, we remember the Titans."

Coach Boone: "Anybody know what this place is? This is Gettysburg. This is where they fought the Battle of Gettysburg. Fifty thousand men died right here on this field, fightin' the same fight that we're still fightin' amongst ourselves today.
This green field right here was painted red, bubblin' with the blood of young boys, smoke and hot lead pourin' right through their bodies. Listen to their souls, men:
'I killed my brother with malice in my heart. Hatred destroyed my family.'
You listen. And you take a lesson from the dead. If we don't come together, right now, on this hallowed ground, we too will be destroyed -- just like they were. I don't care if you like each other or not. But you will respect each other. And maybe -- I don't know -- maybe we'll learn to play this game like men."

6) Caddyshack

Judge Smails: "You know, you should play with Dr. Beeper and myself. I mean, he's been club champion for three years running and I'm no slouch myself."
Ty Webb: "Don't sell yourself short Judge, you're a tremendous slouch."

Sandy: "I want you to kill every gophers on the golf course!"
Carl Spackler: "Correct me if I'm wrong Sandy, but if I kill all the golfers, they're gonna lock me up and throw away the key..."
Sandy: "Not golfers, you great fool! Gophers! The *little* *brown*, *furry* *rodents* -!
Carl Spackler: We can do that; we don't even have to have a reason. All right, let's do the same thing, but with gophers -!"

Al Czervik: "Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?"
[looks at Judge Smails, who's wearing the same hat]
Al Czervik: "Oh, it looks good on you though."

Al Czervik: [to his Asian companion] "I hear this place is restricted, Wang, so don't tell 'em you're Jewish, okay?"

Carl Spackler: "So I jump ship in Hong Kong and I make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas."
Angie D'Annunzio: "A looper?"
Carl Spackler: "A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-lagunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice."

Ty Webb: "You take drugs, Danny?"
Danny Noonan: "Every day."
Ty Webb: Good. "Then what's your problem?"

Groundskeeper Sandy: "Carl. Damn your eyes. I told you, today is the day we change the holes. Now, do it, and no more slacking off."
Carl Spackler: "I'll slack you off, you fuzzy little foreigner."

Judge Smails: "Spaulding, get dressed you're playing golf."
Spalding Smails: "No I'm not grandpa I'm playing tennis."
Judge Smails: "You're playing golf and you're going to like it."
Spalding Smails: "What about my asthma?"
Judge Smails: "I'll give you asthma"

Carl Spackler: "I have to laugh, because I've outsmarted even myself. My enemy, my foe, is an animal. In order to conquer the animal, I have to learn to think like an animal. And, whenever possible, to look like one. I've gotta get inside this guy's pelt and crawl around for a few days."

Lou Loomis: "Pick up that blood!"

Tony D'Annunzio: "Hey wait a minute. That's only 50 cents."
Danny Noonan: "Yeah well Lou raised the price of coke he's been losing at the track."
Tony D'Annunzio: "Well I ain't paying no 50 cents for no coke."
Danny Noonan: "Oh then you ain't getting no coke. Know what I'm talking about?"

Carl Spackler: "This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff."

Thrive for Life

Time to talk about myself! In 4th grade, I had my first seizure. I was diagnosed with epilepsy later that year. Epilepsy is a seizure disorder that runs in my family.  Although I wasn't aware at the time, this disorder would effect my entire life. I was put on medication, and everything was fine. In the summer going into 7th grade I had 4 seizures. Not fun. However, the problem was solved and my doctor put me on a different medicine that was best for me. That was when everything turned upside down. Because of certain side effects, school, which usually was easy for me, got a lot tougher. It seemed like everything was less clear, I always got distracted, and it felt like I had less energy in me. Even my personality altered. Sometimes my mom would ask me-"What happened to my Rosie?" referring to the old, bright and more energetic me. It killed me when she would say that. By the time freshman year came around, I had accepted that I was quiet, shy, and a pushover. My friends didn't treat me well, and I didn't have enough respect for myself to tell them to stop. I was a follower. Most importantly, I wasn't happy with myself and my life. The beginning of sophomore year was a nightmare. My friends, just like they (we, I guess) had done to other girls in the group, stop answering my calls or texts. They would all make up excuses and ditch me. I finally couldn't deal with it anymore. I basically completely broke off from that group and decided to take a risk and branch out. I had to find the person I used to be for this to happen. I became more confident in myself, and I became more outgoing. I started hanging out with people who actually liked me for who I am. They thought I was funny, fun to be around. The more steps I took out of my comfort zone, the more people I became friends with. I was happier than I had ever been in a very long time. I had many more friends, and actual friends who appreciated me. I realize now that even though my epilepsy has been an obstacle, and there will be things I can't do because of it, but it has also been a consistent learning experience. I truly believe that it has been "a blessing in disguise" as they say. If this is the biggest burden in my life, then I am very lucky. I don't have a problem telling people about it anymore, I'm not really embarrassed about it like I used to be. I just don't like it when people treat me differently because of it. The only thing I can't stand is when people make fun of or imitate someone who has seizures. Other then that, I have a sense of humor about it when its not offensive. Many people freak out when I tell them, but I haven't had a seizure in 3 years and there are no signs of me having one anytime soon. That is part of the reason I chose carpe diem for my title. I've learned from this experience to be thankful for each day I have and not to waste it. I have also learned that there is always someone out there who has it worse than I do. There always will be, and I'm going to try to give back. I want to be remembered by that, not by my disorder. What do you want to be remembered for? Don't just live life, thrive for it! Seize the day!

Summer is a time not only to relax, but to party!. A time to be a reckless teenager again. Summer is a new beginning. We are done with school, what now? We can finally be who we want to be without being judged or punished for it. Especially this summer, I've decided this summer, being the first year I don't have summer school, will be the summer that I learn more about myself. Also, the summer to have the best time of my life. I want this to be a summer to remember. I'm going to sneak out, and stay out all night. I'm gonna be a reckless teenager. So, my new beginning is to wipe away all the stress and drama I have had this school year. I'm finally a senior and I don't want to look back at this summer seeing drama, frustration, and stress. We should all do this. I know I am not the only one with these problems. We have to treat everyday like it is sacred, like it is our last. We cannot be afraid to fail. We have to stay optimistic. We should dance in the rain and embrace the blazing hot sun. We should be ourselves and break out of our comfort zone. We have to find new friendships and re-kindle the old ones. We should laugh until we cry. We should stick together. We should tell each other secrets. And finally, we should look for summer love!

"Summer romances begin for all kinds of reasons, but when all is said and done, they have one thing in common. They're shooting stars, a spectacular moment of light in the Heavens, fleeting glimpse of eternity and in a flash they're gone."   -The Notebook
Summer love...who doesn't want it? Well, girls at least. Let's just admit it: we all would kill to have a boyfriend in the summer, a summer fling. We all know that if we did, then THAT would be our summer to remember. There's been countless movies about it.  Countless songs. Its the best to imagine having one: sneaking out at night, staying at the beach all day, driving in his convertible, going to movies together, him teaching you how to play pool (haha I have a really random imagination), sitting around a bonfire together, making out at sunset, etc... Does anybody else wish we could live in a world where boys weren't afraid to ask us out? Haha maybe we should start a revolution and ask boys out ourselves. I know girls do do that, but I'm way too shy and old-fashioned. Happy summer everyone! Have a great time! Seize the day!

"Then followed that beautiful season... Summer....Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood." -Henry Wadsworth Longfello
"Sun is shining. Weather is sweet. Make you wanna move your dancing feet."  -Bob Marley
"Sunny days, party nights, hot guys
water fights, pretty hair, tanned skin
schools out summers in ♥"
"Summer love . midnight kisses . shooting stars . secret wishes"
"Summer 2009 was fine, but summer 2010 is where it all will begin."
"Blue skies, Hot Guys; Late Nights, Water Fights; ice creams, Swim Suits; Summer '10."
"Partying like crazy, you know the drill, tanning all day, nights dressed to kill, nothing is going to replace these days. Oh so sweet summer vacation, life in the heat."
"Beach sand, perfect tans. Day walks, night talks. Sleepless nights, pillow fights. & spending every day with  those who matter most."
"A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken."
"A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows."  -St. Francis of Assisi

So many great summer songs too....so I just randomly chose one.

Individuality

I know that most of my posts are advice and quotes, but I think its important to keep track of the lessons and values I learn as I grow up and mature. The theme of this post is individuality (another inspiration from Deebs). "Be yourself..." um yeah how many times have we heard that? I'm guessing a lot. What does it mean to 'be yourself'? How can you explain that? Being yourself, to me, means to show the world who you believe you are as a person. It means to avoid being changed by others. I know, from self-experience, that once you 'be yourself' and let your true light shine, it will bring you great happiness. Also, from this experience I have learned that it is so much more rewarding to be loved for the person inside you, which gives you much more confidence. Finally, 'be yourself' means to be different. I mean, come on,  you can't think that passive people who 'blend in' and stay that way, are not being themselves. When you find out who you truly are, you become a leader. Maybe you won't figure out who you are or want to be, but you could find out who you don't want to be. That is how I figured out that I wasn't happy with who I was, even though I wasn't sure who I wanted to be. So, don't live life without showing your true self. Everyone is different (wow that was cheesing) in their own way, even if they don't show it. So express yourself! Put yourself out there! Step out of your comfort zone to show people the real you. How many chances at this thing called life are we gonna get? Be yourself; sieze the day!

"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." -E.E. Cummings

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." -Dr. Seuss

" Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary." -Cecil Beaton
-This song isn't really about being yourself, but I love this song/movie and its called "stand out," so just go with it lol.

"Did you know our soul is composed of harmony?" -Leonardo DaVinci
